When I first discovered Feng Shui, it immediately excited, inspired, and resonated deep within my soul. Feng Shui clearly embodied and incorporated so many of the things that I already believed, but thought were unrelated — that everyone has the ability to create their own reality, there is energy everywhere, my home and workplace have the power to affect me, and even that I think more clearly in an uncluttered space.

The first book I read on Feng Shui was "Clear Your Clutter with Feng Shui" by Karen Kingston. I read it in one evening. I was so excited that I could hardly sleep. The next morning I ventured down into my very cluttered basement and proceeded to clean out 20 years worth of items.

I remember I had many half-finished craft projects. They were still good projects with good materials like the yarn I was using to knit baby blankets. My twin boys were 20 years old.I had no interest in finishing those blankets for my boys- in fact, I had no interest in knitting anything. Once I cleared out all the projects that I was no longer interested in and all the old clothes, old furniture, broken items that I had planned to fix and items that just didn't express who I was anymore, I felt a huge weight lift from me. Now I no longer had all these items waiting for me to finish or repair some day. My basement was cleaner, my mind felt clearer and energized, and my life felt free.

It freed my life up so new opportunities, new people, and experiences could come into my life. And boy, did they flood in! The results were nothing short of miraculous. I found myself pursuing many new opportunities. It seemed like synchronicity was happening daily. I had been thinking about pursuing a new profession but didn¹t know what it would be. I met just the right people at the right time to further my quest. I continued to read more Feng Shui books. I finally decided that Feng Shui was what I wanted to do and within 8 months of reading my first FS book, I hopped on a plane to San Diego to attend The Western School of Feng Shui practitioner training. As I was sitting in that class, I was continually reminded of how right it all felt.

My role as a Feng Shui Practitioner is both teacher and consultant. Essential Feng Shui® is easy for my clients to understand and use. I feel people are more empowered if they understand why they are doing the recommendations I suggest. I like to open my clients' eyes to their own intuitive Feng Shui skills, so that they can continue to use Feng Shui principles as their lives and needs change.
