Fabulous Color

Is color the first thing you notice in a room? Color is a
powerful tool for shifting the energy of a space. It can have a
huge impact on our emotions, mental states, and our physical
bodies. Bright colors tend to cheer us up while dark colors are
more sobering.

The great thing about color is its ease of use. It can easily be
applied to our homes with a quick coat of paint, new drapes,
or throw pillows. We can use particular colors when getting
dressed in the morning.

Certain colors can give us the confidence to ask for a raise, be
more creative, or think more clearly. Color use can be as simple
as having a different sheet of colored paper to look at during the
day to help us focus on the qualities that we want to strengthen.

Even though everyone reacts differently to colors based on their
life experiences, each color has special qualities which are
generally associated with it. Here are a few of them:

  • Red- happiness, strength, power
  • Purple- nobility, spirituality, rich, leadership
  • Yellow- intelligence, communication, optimism,
    self-esteem
  • Green- tranquility, hope, growth, health
  • Blue- intuition, wisdom, communication
  • Black-contemplative, feeling of depth
  • Brown- stability
  • Orange- happiness, power, confidence, communication
  • Pink- love, happiness
  • White- mental acuity

Use color to create changes in your life:

  • If you are looking for more excitement and social
interaction, add touches of red to your environment.
  • Need encouragement? Add yellow.
  • If you worry about others' opinions, add blue.
  • Want more romance? Introduce pink
  • Need to focus on details? Use white.

Experiment with color. Discover how each color affects you
personally. Have fun with it.

Bagua mapping service

In addition to personal consultations, I am now offering a bagua
mapping service. This is for anyone who is interested in trying
Feng Shui, but who doesn't feel ready to commit to having a
consultation yet or who just feels they need a little help with the
orientation of the bagua on their home.

If you are confused as to how to lay the bagua on your home or
would just like the reassurance that you are doing it correctly, I
can help. For more detailed information about your home, see
my Deluxe Bagua Mapping Service.

Bagua Mapping Service includes:

  1. Map of your home with the bagua indicated on a
    tissue overlay
. See exactly where each of the bagua
areas are in your home. I'll locate the missing corners/
guas for you. By knowing where all these areas are,
you'll be able to work on particular parts of your home
that pertain to aspects of your life you would like to
    enhance.
  2. Map of individual rooms with the bagua indicated
    on a separate tissue overlay.
    Locations of doubly
auspicious places are indicated on this overlay. (Doubly
auspicious places are extra powerful places to put an
enhancement. These are areas where the gua of a room
overlaps the same gua of the house.)
  3. Supplemental materials:
    1. Recommended enhancements for each gua
    2. Colored bagua map
    3. General directions on using your map
  4. Price: $49

Deluxe mapping service includes:

  2. PLUS a 30-minute personal phone consultation
based on your layout. Receive Feng Shui suggestions
especially geared to those areas of your life in which you
    would like to see improvements.
  3. Price: $99

Joy Notes Q&A

Joy,

I am about to sell my house. Do you have any helpful hints?

Bev Sutherland, Australia

*****************

Bev,

Thank you for your question. I just attended Advanced
Feng Shui training on selling and buying real estate in
September. Without actually seeing your home, I won't be
able to give you specific tips, but there are many general things
you can do to make your home ready for sale. Here
are ten Feng Shui suggestions which will have a huge
impact.

  1. Make sure the clutter is cleared out of your entire home.
Most homes can benefit from removing about
1/3 of the furniture, furnishings, and belongings.
Create a home that feels spacious. (Rent a storage
    unit if necessary.)
  2. Remove extra decorations on tabletops, shelves, etc.
  3. Remove personal photos. Buyers will spend more
time looking at the photos than at the house. They'll
also have a harder time imagining the house as their
    home rather than yours.
  4. Make sure the entrance is especially wonderful
looking. This is their first impression of the house
and it gives prospective buyers an indication of the
condition of the rest of the house. Trim back bushes
along the walk. Remove all weeds. Make sure the
    entrance is well lit.
  5. Enhance your Wealth & Prosperity and Helpful
People guas -- declutter/beautify. You are looking
for helpful people (buyers/real estate agents) who
will bring you the desired selling price. Activate both
of these areas with additional enhancements, i.e.,
    round, multi-faceted crystals, windchimes, lush
plants, etc. A fountain in the wealth area would be
    great too.
  6. Put a copy of the house listing in your Wealth &
Prosperity and Helpful People/Travel areas with the
word "SOLD" over the top of it. (This doesn't have
    to be visible to work.)
  7. Make sure that you and everyone in the family wants
to sell the house. If anyone in the family is not
anxious to sell, it will affect your ability to attract
    the right buyer.
  8. Write a letter to your house thanking it for being a
wonderful home for your family and your willingness
to now let another family benefit from it. Gather the
family together and read it outloud to your house.
  9. Make sure that the kitchen and bathrooms are in
great shape. People are very interested in these
two areas. Make sure counters are cleared off and
shelves and drawers are tidy and organized.
  10. Make all necessary repairs.
ΚΚΚΚΚ

I wish you the very best with the future sale of your home.
